Swedish Massage: This is the type of massage that everyone thinks about when they envision a "massage." This form of massage was introduced in 1812 in Stockholm and consists of long, firm, gliding strokes, kneading of the muscles, and vibrational taps to release tension. All physical movements during the massage are applied in the direction of the heart to encourage blood circulation and disposal of bodily waste. (70 hr)

Deep Tissue Massage: This type of massage is used to heal adhesions or "knots" in your muscle fibers and connective tissue (ligaments and tendons). By applying and manipulating a specific muscle or connective tissue area with very strong pressure, the muscle and connective tissue is helped in its repair and restoration to a healthy state. By correcting the injured muscle and connective tissue, better posture and coordination is gained as well as overall agility. (70 hr)

Shiatsu Massage: This treatment consists of applying varying pressure with the fingers, elbows, or palms to specific areas on the skin. When these specific areas are massaged, a tremendous feeling of relaxation results. Another fringe benefit of this treatment is increased circulation and lymphatic flow. (80 hr)

Tui Na Massage: This type of treatment stated plainly can also be called Chinese massage. It is similar to Acupuncture, however, needles are never used only the hands, fingers, and elbows of the therapist. This massage style also consists of grasping and pushing massage strokes that aid muscle relaxation and improve circulation. (80 hr)

Thai Massage: This type of treatment uses very strong pressure on strategic points on the body that is exerted by the hands, elbows, knees, and feet. This type of treatment is not recommended for a client new to strenuous massage. Thai massage uses peripheral manipulation of the body to benefit the overall health of the client. (75 hr)
